Work & Money

Privacy policy

Short version: the numbers you type into our calculators stay in your browser.

Last updated October 9, 2026

The numbers you enter

Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The salaries, costs and other figures you type are not sent to us and are not stored by us.

Shared links

If you use "Copy link to these numbers", your inputs are placed in the link after the # sign. Browsers don't send that part of a link to web servers, so we don't receive it — but anyone you send the link to can see the numbers in it.

Saved scenarios

If you click “Save on this device”, the scenario is stored in your own browser's local storage so you can reopen it later from the Saved scenarios page. It never reaches us. You can delete saved scenarios on that page or by clearing your browser's site data.

Public data files

Some tools (such as Am I paid fairly? and Compare occupations) load public wage tables from our site, for example the file for the occupation you choose. These requests contain only the name of the public file — never the pay or other numbers you type.

Search on this site

Site search runs in your browser using a list of our pages; what you search for isn't sent to us.

Cookies and analytics

We don't currently set cookies or use analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we'll update this policy before it happens and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider's servers automatically record basic technical information when pages are requested — such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.

Children

The site is intended for adults making work and money decisions and is not directed at children.
