The lowest-paid 10% earned less than $46,540 and the highest-paid 10% more than $152,530. As an hourly rate, the median is $37.47. About 22,640 people work in this occupation nationwide. The highest state medians are in District of Columbia ($127,010), Illinois ($116,200) and New Jersey ($100,250). After taxes and local prices, though, a median paycheck goes furthest in Illinois.
